Community Guidelines

Rules for the text-only discussion board, polls, article submissions, and moderation.

Purpose

The community is a place to discuss automation, AI, labor, creative work, historical parallels, and human agency. Good-faith disagreement is welcome. Keep satire, reporting, opinion, and forecasts clearly distinguishable.

Post text, not media

Forum posts and replies are text only. Image attachments are not allowed. Do not attempt to embed images, audio, video, executable files, tracking links, or other attachments. Do not post explicit sexual text. The site quietly sanitizes some profanity and sexual language, but sanitization is not permission to bypass the rules.

Keep people safe and the record useful

Do not threaten, harass, impersonate, expose private information, coordinate abuse, post spam, distribute malware, or knowingly make materially false claims. Do not ask other members for private account information.

When sharing a factual claim, identify the source when practical. Link desks and external links are invitations to read the original material, not proof that every linked claim is correct.

Submissions and polls

Article submissions enter editorial review and are not automatically published. Authors retain ownership. Separate permission is required before an accepted submission is publicly published. Polls are informal ballots, not representative research. One signed-in account may cast one vote per open poll.

Moderation and roles

Forum admins may hide discussions or replies, review submissions, and close or reopen polls. The project owner is the only superadmin initially and may assign or remove forum-admin roles, including preauthorizing a specific email identity to receive forum-admin access on its first sign-in. Sensitive administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.
